  Country house. Dating back to 1620, Moresby Hall is one of only a few Grade I Listed buildings in Cumbria. With a 5-star Gold Award, it offers stunning country guesthouse accommodation with a peaceful walled garden, high speed fibre internet connection free WIFI, free electric car charging for guests and private off road parking. We welcome guests travelling for corporate or tourism stays. Described by English Heritage as “One of the most important buildings in Cumbria” of special architectural interest with many original features. There are currently 13 individually designed, charming guest rooms. Some have a four-poster bed, and all come with Smart internet TV, Gilchrist & Soames toiletries, well stocked tea / coffee beverage tray. We can offer flexible bed options, with some Super King doubles can be presented as twin bedded rooms and additional sprung mattress sofa beds. Please note, a minimum of 24 hours notice is required for our housekeepers to amend the standard double bed set up to twin rooms or for folding & sofa beds. Cubby Lodge is a self contained ground floor one bedroom apartment, a cosy "home from home" property. Breakfast offers a varied choice of buffet items and a freshly cooked full English Breakfast. Locally sourced produce from Cumbrian suppliers has enabled us to maintain a Visit England breakfast award for many years. Dinner is currently unavailable. Please ask for details on local restaurants to dine, less than 3 miles approx. We are fully licensed with a range of reasonably priced beers, wines & spirits. Moresby Hall enjoys a semi-rural setting but is still only 2 miles from the picturesque marina in the Georgian market town of Whitehaven. We are a short stroll from the Cumbrian Coastal walk and the shingle beach at Parton which provides the most beautiful sunsets for keen photographers. Parton Rail Station is just a 10-minute walk from the property. Free car parking for guests leaving a vehicle when cycling the C2C route.
