Ryokan. Offering modern-style Japanese rooms with free Wi-Fi, mood lighting and an LCD TV, Nakaodaira boasts 6 private hot-spring baths that can be reserved free of charge. The inn is located a 10-minute drive from the Shin-Hodaka Ropeway cable car. Guests at Nakaodaira Inn sleep on a traditional tatami (woven-straw) floor in Japanese futon bedding, and tea/coffee and Yukata robes are provided. Each room has a private toilet, and guests bathe at the hot-spring baths. Rooms boast views of Japan's North Alps. The 6 private hot-spring baths include 4 interior and 2 open-air baths. Advance reservation is not needed, guests can simply enter an unused bath and hang a sign on the door. Kamikochi is a 30-minute drive away, and the property is a 90-minute bus ride from JR Takayama Train Station. Free shuttles are available from Nakao Kogenguchi bus stop and to/from Shin-Hodaka Ropeway cable car. Japanese-style set meals are served at the dining area for breakfast and dinner.
