  Lodge. Located within a 2-hour drive of Johannesburg, Safari Plains offers luxury accommodation against the backdrop of the Waterberg Mountain Range. This 12,000-hectare private game reserve is home to the Big 5. Each of the tented suites at Safari Plains features a private wrap-around timber deck, a sunken bath and a separate shower. They are each equipped with a mini bar, tea-and-coffee-making facilities and air-conditioning. Meals are included in the rates and can be enjoyed in the high-ceiling dining room. Guests can also relax in the elegant lounge or have a drink at the bar. Two game drives per day are also included in the rates, while a number of treatments are available at the Spa. Safari Plains also offers a variety of activities, including guided safari walks, horseback safaris, hot air balloon rides and quad bike adventures.
