  Lodge. Offering a sun terrace, Waitaki Braids is set in Kurow. Hunter is 48 km away. All units feature a seating area. Every unit is fitted with a private bathroom with a hairdryer. Towels and bed linen are provided. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. The property also offers packed lunches. Bike hire is available at the property and the area is popular for skiing and golfing. You can engage in various activities, such as horse riding, cycling and fishing. Omarama is 48 km from Waitaki Braids. Waitaki Braids is set in the heart of the Kurow township, 65 km from Oamaru and 55 km from Omarama. The lodge has 7 rooms all can be double with 6 having super king beds, five rooms have the option of being twin rooms. Each room has its own private conservatory and en-suite, along with an outside deck to sit on. The lodge offers a full breakfast with their signature dish being "Posh Porridge". There is a cafe open 10:00 to 14:00 where quests can enjoy a selection of foods from Japanese salads to Croque Monsuier, to a NZ favourite the giant cheese roll. Packed lunches are available for cyclists doing the cycle trail. Dinner is three courses the first being a snack on arrival in followed by two courses designed around local produce. Bike hire can be arranged and there are many other sports in close proximity including Awakino Ski field, 3 golf courses, excellent salmon and trout fishing and hunting by arrangement.
